Announced the other day at the All Things Digital Conference is a new online OS. GLide OS is interoperable between almost any popular operating system including mobile devices such as the iPhone and Blackberries. For a list of all the operating system Glide OS supports, visit their homepage here. Also to access the mobile version you have to use this URL http://www.glidemobile.com.

I played around with the OS a for a little while today, it is pretty cool. I did have a problem using it with Safari 3.0 but thats because you have to shut off your pop up blocker, no big deal. I also tried it on my iPod Touch and it worked as I expected. It has everything you would expect in an OS including photo editing, word processing, email, and media playing. It might not be the absolute prettiest, but its functional.

This is pretty interesting stuff and the future of computing. Operating systems in the future will all be online based. Sign up for a free 5GB account and check it out for yourselves.
